Laura Treers

Laura started as a PhD student in the EDG in Fall 2018. She graduated from MIT as an undergraduate in Mechanical Engineering, and grew up in the Albany region of Upstate New York. Some of her interests within the field include dynamics, biomechanics, and ocean engineering. Within EDG, she is interested in studying bio-inspired manipulation with applications to robotic dexterity underwater. She aims to collaborate with the department of Integrative Biology, in order to use our understanding of marine creatures to inspire more elegant and robust designs. Outside of research, Laura enjoys spending time outdoors either hiking, cycling, running, or skiing.
